Where are you located?
The Healing Hut is located in Germanton NC, about 20 minutes northeast of Winston-Salem. The address will be included in your appointment confirmation. Virtual sessions are also available via Zoom.
What happens during a healing session?
Most of us have very few opportunities to experience genuine contact with one another – that enriching, enlivening experience of being deeply heard and witnessed. The Healing Hut is a sacred, protected healing space in the woods where I intentionally cultivate that opportunity for you.
And when we meet, with our rocking chairs facing one another, I listen to more than your words. A landscape opens up between us that holds all the information we need for whatever part of you is ready to step forward to be witnessed and healed.
There are many tools available to us: moving and balancing energy, guided meditations and visualizations, intuitive coaching and therapeutic massage. Of course, no two sessions are ever going to be exactly the same.
Non-local (aka “virtual”) healing sessions via Zoom are always available.
What is "earth based" healing?
What earth based healing means in a practical sense is that we recognize that we are a part of and in relationship with the natural world. It not only surrounds us – it includes us and actively supports us. The communication we experience with the natural world is central to our healing. This is why I have carefully chosen the wooded outdoor location of the healing hut where we can sometimes be visited by woodland critters at meaningful moments.
Does massage still play any part in your work?
I started Vibrant Being in 2004 as a licensed massage and bodywork therapist, but as I have evolved, so has my practice. I now consider massage to be only one of the many tools available to us in service of your healing and expansion. One of the great joys of allowing Spirit to guide our work is that when we step into Mystery, by definition we don't know where the session will take us. Sometimes hands-on work is called for.
I no longer offer massage as a stand-alone menu item, but I have maintained my license so that I can respond when I hear that particular call.
What's your perspective on Covid?
I am fully vaccinated and boosted.
The Healing Hut was built in 2020 with Covid safety in mind. Three of its four walls are fully screened from floor to ceiling so that we can enjoy wonderful cross-ventilation. Please know that I am happy to wear a mask at your request.
Do you work in the Healing Hut year round?
Yes, I do, but the Healing Hut is not conditioned space. Because of this, you may notice that my calendar does not offer afternoon appointments in the heat of summer. In the winter, I roll down the vinyl panels and start my day at 10 am or later because it can take a couple of hours for the propane heater to make things warm and toasty inside. Spring and Fall are the seasons when we can work together in the Hut at almost any time. It's particularly lovely with rain on the roof, and magical on late winter afternoons/evenings when we work by the light of a kerosene lamp and a string of twinkle lights.
